It was a hard day. The stretch coming back to the finish was SOOOOO HARD!!! I stood up to stretch the legs and my quads cramped. I knew I was in trouble. I knew I pushed too hard in the easier sections and saved nothing for this last bit. My pace dropped and I easily lost precious time in this section. Will I ever learn to start easier? I doubt it. I keep hoping my endurance will improve so I can do it the way I want.
Isn't it strange that the wind for this race is ALWAYS in your face for the climbs???
I thought I missed the second turnaround as my eyes were blurred from the speed (wind at back) then I remembered that the turning point seemed like it was in Utah....well, close.
I agree with Jose, its pretty easy to go out smoking and not save enough for that deceptively difficult finish. I like the distance though.Blue Sky once again had a good showing of the greatest looking kits!
